One of my favorites. We've been going there since the mid '80s and it was known as LA Paz. Very little has changed, and that is a good thing. I arrived just after they opened the doors and within 15 minutes it was packed. The service is excellent. We never wanted for anything. It really is an outstanding experience. Great food. Great service.

Everything was really good, the portions did not disappoint. The guac and queso come sized to actually treat your party to an appetizer, not just as a little side dish. Great hot chips and zesty salsa brought right to the table. Hearty entrees. Really friendly service. Our local friend told us this is her weekly spot, and I can understand why.

Food is great, but tired of guessing when they are open. Need to adjust hours on your website or at least put a message on your answering machine as to when you are open! Frustrating!

My spouse and I recently tried Chez Guevara for the first time and found the food and service to be excellent. The chips and assortment of salsa they bring to the table after you are seated is my new favorite! I had the black and blue nachos and they were fabulous. My spouse had the chicken quesadilla and said it was very good also. The portion sizes were huge, so much in fact, that we couldn’t finish all of our food. We will be back and highly recommend giving Chez Guevara a try!

Don't get the grilled salmon quesadilla. It's terrible. I'm not one to complain about a meal, but I even asked the server if it was good, and I was told it was fantastic. That was unfortunately false. It was so dry and fishy. It was supposed to come with goat cheese, but they cheeped out and used mozzarella or some other stringy cheese. Definitely not goat cheese! I ate a few bites but couldn't get myself to eat more than about a fifth of it.

Great service. Food was hit, fresh, and seasoned well. Great flavor combinations.

This place was Terrible.. rude staff and management was horrible. I went there on Sunday Evening . Had an issue with my food and the manager basically told me to get bbn out of HIS restaurant. I dont knownif the owners are aware of this terrible service, but they better fix it or they wont be in business long at all. I WILL NEVER BE BACK😡😡😡🤬🤬

Got take out and waited with a margarita. Amazing food, atmosphere and people. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Really cool atmosphere. Dark and moody, but it works. Much larger inside than the what it looks like from the exterior. Really yummy chips and salsa, as well as fajitas. My buddy said margaritas were great.

I’ve been going to this restaurant regularly for more than 38 years and I will keep going for as long as it’s open and continues the great food, drinks and atmosphere!

When you talk about a hole in the wall, this is the place. Once inside it’s decorated in an eclectic mix of Elvis and Salvador Dali themed items. The green salsa is great and the red is even better.... save some for your second basket of chips. I ordered the Cozumel which was several styles of corn wrapped goodness smothered in cheese. Worth stopping in at, and you won’t leave hungry.

We came here for dinner tonight. Although the ambience is great and the servers are super friendly, the food isn’t worth what we paid. Drinks are great and affordable. The chips and salsa starter is also fine. But I won’t ever come back for the food. The single taco for $4.95 is basically a Taco Bell taco that usually costs $1 but charged us $5. The guacamole is nice. But I wouldn’t be coming back just for their food.

This is a GREAT mexican restaurant! The food was tremendous. The chili con queso is enough of a reason to come here. My only gripe was that there was no sign to the restaurant. YOU NEED A SIGN GUYS! It's a small restaurant in the corner of a strip mall next to a yoga place.

Great unique neighborhood tex-mex including classic cocktails. Deliscious food from fajitas to burritos and salads. All tasty and great the next day as left overs. Nice portions for hungry or to share. But why split a meal when you can enjoy Chez for two meals? Great secret place. Go here.

Best spinach dip I've ever had! This place had a very low key atmosphere and my server/bartender was extremely friendly and hardworking. I came here, while on a business trip, because it was highly recommend by my boss(who is from Knoxville) and this restaurant did NOT disappoint! I wish I could have the spinach con queso shipped to me, back in Birmingham!

Terrific dishes original to the restaurant. Quiet setting with great music. Amazing drink options. It's very easy to order items gluten free here.

Nice cozy restaurant. Almost missed it though because there was really no sign up where you could see it from the parking lot. Food was good but service was even greater. Only complaint other then knowing if it was a restaurant was that they didn't have any draft beer. Only bottled beer available. Would definitely come back though.

Excellent food! Get the Elvis burrito. The atmosphere of the place is lovely and I recommend going at night for the full effect.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff! Their red salsa was quite tasty, which is saying a lot since it can be hard to find good salsa in Knoxville. I had their Puebla Enchiladas since enmoladas con pollo are my favorite. The sauce was decent, though they used some kind of carved chicken in their enchilada which didn't have a lot of flavor, so it was a bit of a let down. Overall, not a bad meal, have had better. With some things there being quite good and some not as much, and I only tried one thing on the menu, I wouldn't discount this place just yet.

A kitschy atmosphere of Elvis and classic Hollywood monsters join the usual Mexican restaurant decor as you step inside. The service is fantastic and the food even more so. The staff were really good in fixing my friend a tasty gluten-free version of one of their famous dishes. Her boyfriend's meal (Cuban quesadilla) and mine (black and blue chicken nachos) were delicious. I will definitely return in the future.

I still think about this place & when anyone asks my favorite Mexican place - it’s Chez Guevara !! the food was so well made and delicious, the restaurant itself is cozy with a great ambience. highly recommend !

Food is fairly unique and very good. Its a great change of pace from usual Hispanic restaurants around.

I have loved this place for years! The margaritas are my favorite and the spinach cheese dip is the best ever! The food is to die for and the service is like no other. Thank you Kevin for never changing a thing here.

Love this place! It's so unique and I don't care how many times you've been here, you will see something new on the walls every single time. My go to is the fajita quesadilla with chicken. If you don't like tomatoes or lettuce, tell them because they will put that on top of it. I also love the spinach queso. It can be a bit spicy so I get a side of sour cream to go with it. They also have THE BEST margarita in town. They may look small but pack a punch fast. I always get mine with sugar on the rim. I recommend getting here early to beat the crowd. They are also only opened for dinner. Don't expect to see a sign for this place...They have a small one but you probably won't see it. My friends and I call it "no name."

Absolutely fantastic food and service! Their Spinach dip is no joke the best I have ever had and the chicken fajitas were so flavorful. Oh and their margaritas were yummy! So romantic inside as well. We loved it.

Unfortunately, I just recently discovered this place. I've missed out on several years of enjoyment. I plan to make up for it.Excellent food. Stellar service.
